RWE Trading has been the market leader in Europe for energy trading; RWE Gas Midstream (procurement volume around 40 bcm per annum) the number 6 by volume in the European gas business. From April 1, 2008, RWE Supply & Trading will be in charge of managing all of RWE's international energy procurement activities and wholesale energy trading. It will serve as the European hub for all tradable commodities such as power, emissions certificates, gas, coal and oil (physical and derivatives) as well as optimising the entire gas portfolio of the RWE Group, from short- to long-term procurement and delivery responsibilities. RWE Supply & Trading will have ca. 700 employees located in its headquarters in Essen (Germany) and its offices in Swindon (UK), London (UK) and Prague (CZ) as well as representative and branch offices throughout Europe. <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> For the RWE Supply & Trading GmbH, location Essen, we are looking for an<BR> <BR> EMBEDDED IT ANALYST DEVELOPER WITHIN FRONT OFFICE (m/f)<BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> An excellent opportunity exists for IT developers within the Information Systems department to undertake work aligned to one of our tading desks. <BR> The desks are dependent on information systems, notably: trade capture, decision support and market data and spreadsheet based applications.<BR> <BR> This technical role provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, analytical individual. You will be expected to gain a thorough understanding of a highly complex business area.<BR> <BR> Your tasks:<BR> responsible for carrying out aspects of technical support and developments within Front Office <BR> working closely with the Structuring & Valuation team be able to quickly understand and develop <BR> ad-hoc valuation models and reports <BR> maintain and develop the existing Excel-based solutions<BR> continual improvement of existing smaller system solutions, minimising operational risk - <BR> re-engineering to more strategic solutions where appropriate <BR> the transition of business developed (& supported) applications to an established IT support model<BR> where appropriate<BR> co-ordinate with other business functions the implementation of new products <BR> liaise with other departments on IS matters - in particular Risk and Structuring & Valuation<BR> <BR> Your profile:<BR> strong IT skills: an advanced competence in Excel & VBA; SQL <BR> desirable IT skills: MS SQL Server & Oracle design & development; Net 1.1 / 2, C#, ASP.NET & <BR> WinForms; C++ ; Openlink AVS scritping & Java experience <BR> experience with market information systems (REUTERS, broker screens) <BR> strong knowledge of information systems within either a commodity trading (preferable) or <BR> financial derivatives markets <BR> strong understanding of OpenLink Endur, or alternative ETRM system, would be advantageous, <BR> but not essential <BR> strong analytical and mathematical skills for complex problem/issue resolution <BR> the candidate will require the ability to work to defined standards/methods and work closely with <BR> the Trading Embedded IT team<BR> <BR> The successful candidate will: <BR> have significant interaction with traders and desk analysts and a good understanding of the<BR> pan-european energy markets <BR> have experience of working in an energy trading environment and be familiar with the trade life <BR> cycle process <BR> quickly develop a good working knowledge of the organisation of the company, and be able to <BR> demonstrate a thorough understanding of our business processes <BR> be able to work to tight deadlines, under pressure and flexibly<BR> have excellent interpersonal skills, and be fully experienced at dealing with technical and <BR> business representatives at all levels<BR> be self-motivated, self-starter, able to prioritise, work under pressure and using own initiative<BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> The RWE Supply & Trading GmbH is committed to equal opportunity and diversity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. <BR> Are you interested?
